I had never met such remarkable souls with such open arms!

I had been out of work for 3 years until volunteering at Braw Tea. I was struggling with my mental health and all round confidence.

My time at Braw Tea is still fairly new but nonetheless an amazing journey! You never have a dull day and you walk out feeling good about yourself and what you’ve put out into the community. Forever grateful to be a part of such amazing, strong women, who give people a chance that haven’t had it easy. Plus the food and drinks are 10/10!!

From day one I’ve received such warmth, inclusion and support from the amazing Braw Tea team.

Having retired and then relocated to Broughty Ferry I sometimes felt lonely and isolated in this new location.

The opportunity to volunteer at Braw Tea presented itself to me at just the right time! The organisation willingly provided the training I needed to enable me to be an effective team player in the café, to support the cause. I’ve learned new skills, gained confidence, made new friends and have made connections with our local customers. I consider myself very fortunate to be a member of the Braw Tea team.

It’s a beautiful bunch of ladies looking out for each other to make you stand tall and love the person you are. They help you go forward and meet the community through the café- thank you so much, I love you all dearly.

Braw Tea is such a brilliant place to volunteer

The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious! Since starting I have been on a boat trip to see the dolphins, updated my CPR skills, passed my food hygiene and did a six weeks mindfulness programme. Two years ago I was in a bad way and I could never have imagined my life as it is now.

I have met so many amazing people both staff and customers and take great pride in being front of house ensuring our clientele get 100% service so they want to return time after time. Thank you Braw Tea- you are all fantastic and I look forward to my shift every single week. Keep up the good work!

Braw Tea is so much more than just a café

From the moment you walk through the door you’re welcomed with kindness. Being part of Braw Tea has helped me to build my confidence, meet amazing people and feel part of a supportive community.

It’s a place where people genuinely care about one another, where a simple conversation can brighten your day and where everyone is made to feel welcome. The amazing food and warm atmosphere bring people together, but it’s the sense of connection and support that makes Braw Tea truly special to me.

Braw Tea is a place where I feel truly supported and valued both for who I am and for what I contribute.

I love being part of such a kind and welcoming community of women, bringing together a rich diversity of ages, life experiences, backgrounds and cultures. There is a genuine sense of equality here- I never feel a distinction between staff and volunteers. Everyone supports one another- we work hard, we have fun and it’s a privilege to be part of such a strong, caring and committed team.

skills, volunteering, money or moral support.
